Big Chorus News!
Out of the thousands of students that auditioned, six AGMS students were chosen and will represent AG at the ACDA Southern Division Honors Choirs in Louisville, KY on February 21-24. Congratulations and best of luck to Nikita Rawat, Reeves Towery, Creed Bellamy, Sophie Caldwell, Mitch Givens, and Annika Brown. More great news -- the 7th and 8th grade advanced chorus from AG has been selected to sing in the 2018 Charlotte Concert's Musical Showcase on April 23rd. Thank you to Chris Brown who directs the chorus!

Invest in Excellence Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s successful Invest in Excellence Campaign! Here are a few highlights of the 2017-18 campaign:
  • The campaign exceeded the $100,000 fundraising goal and raised almost $114,000.
  • Of the $114,000, $20,000 came from corporate matching funds and $5,000 was designated for our sister school, Sedgefield Middle School.
  • Over 360 families participated in the campaign which represents 26% of our families.
  • With 28.6% participation, the 6th grade won the grade level participation competition and will be awarded a special celebration later this month.
  • The Invest Campaign funds the following: PTO committees and activities, additional technology for classroom use, supplemental curriculum programs (such as IXL, Study Island, and NewsELA), and physical improvements to commons areas, play spaces, and school grounds.

RESCHEDULED Myers Park HS Field Hockey Spring Meeting

We will discuss plans for summer camp, summer workouts, tryouts, and the fall season. For more information, please contact Christina O’Dell, christinaodell@me.com or 704-258-7257.

Attention Parents
Request for Clothing at AG
Many of our students have the occasion to need a change of clothes during the school day for various reasons such as slips and trips into mud puddles, spilling food and drink in the café, and personal hygiene. It’s challenging and very time consuming for most families to rush over to the school with a change of clothes. Donations of loose fitting tops (both long and short sleeved), elastic waist shorts, sweatpants, and jeans will be put to good use. We are also in desperate need of new underwear in a variety of sizes for both ladies and men, new socks, and lace up shoes/sneakers that you are no longer wearing. Please bring any donations to the front office. Thank you!
